End of year message - 2019

Posted on 16/12/2019

At this time of year I like to reflect on the year just gone and mention some of the highlights that have been celebrated at Chesterfield TKD. This year I really don’t know where to start! It has been a fantastic year in so many ways.

I could write in great detail about the successes of students achieving new 1st and and 3rd degree grades, amazing competition results (including British Champions), students representing PUMA in ITF International competitions, students achieving black belts in Jang Bong, newly qualified umpires and referees and Chesterfield students fighting at the PUMA fight night... but I am going to try and keep this brief and just say a big THANK YOU!

I feel so privileged to be an Instructor at Chesterfield TKD. You all throw yourselves into training, support and inspire each other, work hard towards your goals and celebrate each other’s successors with genuine pleasure. The atmosphere and ‘buzz’ that is created in class on a weekly basis is something that any Instructor would feel proud to be a part of.

On a very personal note, I would also like to thank you all for the push you gave me to step back into the ring and compete at the PUMA Fight Night and also work towards taking my long overdue 5th degree. I wouldn’t have achieved success at either without the encouragement along the way!

I hope you all have a fantastic rest over Christmas. I have no doubt that there will be much more to celebrate in 2020. I really have the best students anyone could wish for!
