New Century Christmas Competition 2011

Posted on 06/12/2011

A huge thank you and well done to all Chesterfield Tae Kwon Do and Little PUMA students who supported our area Christmas competition at Leek on Sunday 4th December. From the feedback I have received I am pretty sure that you all had a great day and enjoyed competing in a friendly/Christmassy, fun filled environment (with an element of seriousness of course!).

During the morning Little PUMAs enjoyed taking part in a number of team events including high kick, parachute games and speed test events before meeting Santa and receiving goody bags. The afternoon kicked off with some light hearted fun and Spartan match between Mr Peter Branon and Mr Mark Chadwick (3rd Degree Instructors in the area), followed by a super Bo-Staff demonstration from a team which included Chesterfield clubs very own Thomas and Aidan Bailey. TKD events then got into full swing and students enjoyed meeting others and competing together.

All came away with medals or trophies of some kind, but a particular well done to our two Little PUMAs Jake Botchett and Henry Owen for coming first in their team events and winning gold medals and to Jack and Harry Helps who won Gold trophies in TKD team events.

So…… once again, a big thank you to all who took part or came along to show your support. You all contributed to make the day special for everyone who took part and helped to raise over £400 for a Cancer Charity! Fantastic!
