Ghana Appeal Update

Posted on 09/12/2010

As many of you are aware the PUMA group do a lot of fundraising to support the growth of Martial Arts in Africa. For a number of years Master Gayle has worked very closley with Mr Mahandi in Ghana to raise the profile of Martial Arts.

Over the last few years Master Gayle has visited Ghana a number of times (along with some PUMA students) to support Mr Mahandi in his mission to develop Martial Arts. The visits to Ghana from PUMA have been televised Nationally and have really helped to build a student base. PUMAs ongoing fundraising has helped supply equipment and uniform to students who would otherwise no be able to train due to the poor economic climate.

Please see the attached email and letter of thanks from Mr Mahandi to the PUMA group. It shows that PUMA are making a real difference and stand that our organisation stands out as a group following the true tenets of Tae Kwon Do.

Dear PUMA family the year 2010 is gradually coming to an end, and looking forward for a prosperous New Year and in our great partnership.
About 5 years ago, the Africa ITF cried out and called for help in the development of Taekwondo in the continent, many instructors and masters responded to this call with great passion and spirit.
The continent and Ghana in particular hosted many masters and groups from Europe, during these visits, a lot of the causes of African inadequate development in Taekwondo were Address and identified, some of the needs identified were: equipments, financial aid, uniforms, and a training center. But we received unfulfilled pledges and slow responds to some of these needs Until the arrival of PUMA and it family, which has shown a great enthusiasm in to solving these problems, by providing us with equipment and financial sponsorship, this support gave the less privileged African, the opportunity to enjoy martial art for free and are now supporting the free uniform and the construction of training centers across the nation.
For this I say PUMA are the true ambassadors of martial art and the willingness in promoting the art can only be found in the hearths and mind of PUMA Family.
I therefore will like to thank all the families of PUMA and it executives for these unitary support and it continuo to grow from strength to strength.
THANK YOU ALL
Mr. Mohammed Mahadi
President
