ICTF International Championships 2010

The ICTF International Championships are being hosted by PUMA Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of June. Competitors and teams have confirmed attendance from various Tae Kwon Do associations within Great Britain and other countries including Canada East, Canada West and Nepal.

The Saturday, day competition will be open to any PUMA colour belt student who wishes to participate. Finals from the day will be held in the evening on a main stage as part of a 'Fight Night', which also will also see the International team sparring events and proves to be a spectacular event.

The Sunday competition will be for black belt participants; patterns, followed by individual sparring events and special technique destruction. PUMA squad members will be selected for these events.

This is the first time PUMA have had the privilege to host an International competition and will be a great experience for all PUMA students who get involved, either as a competitor or spectator at the event. Please make every effort to get involved. The opportunity to be a part of such a big event are few and far between and I am sure you will learn a lot from being a part of it!

Prices for the ICTF championships are listed below. Tickets are now available through your instructor and an itinerary for the weekend is outlined below. It has been decided that junior black belts up to age 13 and junior coloured belts, will be eligible to compete on the Saturday during the adult coloured belt tournament.

The competition on the Saturday for adults and junior coloured belts will consist of patterns and sparring only.

Schedule of events



Saturday morning/afternoon: Junior and adult coloured belts competition, patterns and sparring.

Saturday night: The finals of the blue and red belt adults, patterns and sparring. Followed by Black belt team events, patterns & sparring.

Sunday: Individual black belt patterns & sparring categories, plus special technique destruction.

Spectators

Saturday spectators, which includes the Saturday evening black belt team event £15

Sunday spectators £15

Weekend spectator, which includes Saturday evening event £20

Family ticket for 3 members or more for any of the above, available on request.

Competitors


If you do not wish to compete in the event, but would like to spectator please see your instructor ASAP to organise tickets. The Saturday competition will finish with finals of the junior black belt divisions followed by the international team patterns and sparring events.

We have tried to make prices as competitive as possible to encourage students and families to attend.

Entry Form

The entry forms for the ICTF Championships 26th-27th June are now available. The Saturday competition is for any colour belt student and any Junior black belt up to the age of 14. Any black belt over the age of 14 will compete on the Sunday, but have to be selected to compete by the PUMA coaching team.
You can download the entry form using the link below. The deadline for submitting entries is Wednesday, 16th June 2010.

All entry form must be handed to your instructor by Wednesday 16th June. No late entries will be accepted. Please make sure you read the form carefully and enter accurate information. If you are entered into the wrong category, you will not be permitted to compete (there will be no changing categories on the day). All students entering will be weighed in on the morning of the event, again please make sure you fill in your weight group accurately.

Training usually takes place at Brookfield Community School, Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield on Mondays and Wednesdays.

History

General Choi Hong Hi Black Belt, 9th Degree 1918-2002

General Choi founded Tae Kwon-Do in 1955 and it is now the worlds most popular martial art.

Tae Kwon-Do literally means 'The way of the foot and fist'.
