PUMA English Championships 2010

The PUMA English Championships 2010 is to be held on Sunday, 6th June 2010 at the Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon. The deadline for entry is Wednesday, 26th May 2010.

Entry Form can now be downloaded from the website or obtained in class.

A lot of students took part in the recent Area Championships and won medals. It would be nice to see as many chesterfioeld Students take part as possible regardless of grade or previous competition experience.

The the PUMA English Championships will be held on Sunday, 6 June 2010 at Oasis Leisure Centre, North Star Avenue, Swindon, SN2 1EP.

The schedule will be as follows: (Times are approximate)

9.30 amDoors open
10.00 amJunior weigh-in
10:00 amJunior high kick
10:30 pmMusical patterns
11.00 amJunior patterns followed by sparring (including Black Belt Juniors)
11:00 amJunior Black Belt bo
12.00 pmAdult Coloured Belt weigh-in followed by patterns and sparring
01:00 pmBlack Belt weigh-in
02:00 pmAll Black Belt divisions

All officials please report to the top table at 9:00 am (names of all officials must be sent in with entry forms to ensure free entry and for food).

Competition Entry Fee

Adult/Junior:One event £15, each event thereafter £5.
Little P.U.M.A.:£12.00 per competitor for both events.
Spectators:.:£5

Closing Date for Entries

All entries and payment must be received by Wednesday, 26th May 2010.

Sparring

Point stop for grades up to and including 5th kup (Blue Stripe).
Continuous sparring for 4th kup (Blue Belt) and above.

Tae Kwon-Do

Tae Kwon-Do is the scientific use of the body in the method of self defence. A body that has gained the ultimate use of it's facilities through physical and mental training. Tae Kwon-Do will improve your flexibility, strengthen your body, help channel agressions and reduce overall stress.

Where & When

Training usually takes place at Brookfield Community School, Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield on Mondays and Wednesdays.

History

General Choi Hong Hi Black Belt, 9th Degree 1918-2002

General Choi founded Tae Kwon-Do in 1955 and it is now the worlds most popular martial art.

Tae Kwon-Do literally means 'The way of the foot and fist'.
