Ghana 2010

Posted on 30/11/2009

As some of you know I was involved in a PUMA good will trip to Ghana at the beginning of the year (see Ghana article) to help promote Tae Kwon Do and the launch of Martial Arts in Africa.

Whilst in Ghana we were hosted by Mr Mohammed Muhandi (President Ghana ITF) whose mission has been to set up a new martial art (Al-Husna) in Ghana which encompasses elements of Tae Kwon Do and African History, in a hope that it will encourage the African nation to train in Martial Arts.

Mr Muhandi has recently been in touch with Master Gayle to thank him for his and PUMA's continued support and to share with him the progress that has been made. Please read the attached emails from Master Gayle and Mr Muhandi.

Having been a part of the launch of Al-Husna in Ghana, this is something that is close to my heart and I intend to be a part of Master Gayle's fundraising plans. I have personally witnessed how a very small amount of money can make a huge difference to the Ghanians and Mr Muhandi's mission.

If any students would like to donate a £1 a month, please let me know so that I can forward your name to Master Gayle.

If you require any further information, please ask me and read the article about Ghana on this website.

Dear instructors

This is just a brief update of what is happening in Ghana. Please see the newspaper clipping, which shows what our efforts and recent trip this year to Ghana have achieved.

I'm still hoping to give some financial support to the Ghanaian association on a regular basis. My plan is to get as many people as possible donating £1 - £1.50 per month to the Ghana project on an on-going basis. I will not accept any larger amounts as I feel with lots of people giving a little it will be more sustainable. If you, or any of your students would like to take part, please can you forward names and email addresses so that I can do some group emails about how I intend to proceed with this project. I'm also looking into forming a charity for this project.

Please feel free to forward this email to your students if you wish.

Regards and thanks again for all your support.

Master Gayle

This is the recent email sent to me by Mr Mahadi along with newspaper article.
