PUMA Summer Camp

The camps are a fantastic opportunity to train with some friendly and enthusiastic people under the instruction of top quality instructors, including three masters! The camps are fun varied and challenging.

Some of the activities that take place are:

  • Traditional patterns
  • Kickboxing training
  • Beach training (fun, fitness and technical)
  • Weapons training, including Bo Staff, Nunchaku, Sticks and Knife drills
  • Self Defence, including FAST Defence
  • Grappling
  • Padwork
  • Free bar-b-que
  • The camps are open to all PUMA members and their families, not just students.

This year's summer camp will be held at Cherry Tree Farm, Croyde Bay, North Devon. We occupy a separate field on a family campsite that overlooks the picturesque Croyde Bay.

The camp commences on Saturday 24th July 2010 and finishes on Saturday 31st July 2010. Please note that students are required to attend for the full week.

This is primarily a training camp, with training twice a day (morning and evening) and additional optional training during the afternoons. You will be training under a number of P.U.M.A.s highest grades and you will have the opportunity to learn a lot of new skills as well as improve your fitness.

Please note that the morning sessions involve some running. If you do not normally run (or jog) it would be advisable to do some specific training prior to the camp. (You should be able to jog for about fifteen minutes quite comfortably.)

Although this is an adult training camp, non-training family members are welcome to attend. Training is for students aged 13 or over and a parent or legal guardian must accompany anyone under the age of eighteen who attends. Please note that these rules regarding age will be strictly adhered to.

If you wish to reserve a place on this year's camp, please fill in the form available from your instructor and return it as soon as possible.

This year you will have to book your camping pitch direct with Cherry Tree Farm and a booking form for this will be sent to you on receipt of your training form. We require a completed form for everyone attending camp which includes all children and non-training family members.

Application forms are now available for any students wishing to attend the Adult Summer Camp. Please ask in class for more details.
